Chapter 11

The more the girl thought about it, the more confused she became. She went to look for that little boy again to ask him clearly, but a high-speed rail train roared past the station, and the little boy was nowhere to be seen.

Suddenly, she remembered something and hurriedly dialed a number. As soon as the call was answered, the girl immediately started chattering away: “Christine, my genius baby sister, you would never guess that I found someone on Giant 6 who is just as talented as you. Oh, he was wearing the Amicius school uniform, so he’s probably a student from that school…”

……

The first day for new students is for fusion evolution armor, and the second day is for the new and old students’ exchange day. This is a traditional arrangement in all federal secondary academies.

There are thirty students in Class Six, Grade One, where Henry Bennett is. However, since participation in the exchange day for upperclassmen is voluntary, and those whose abilities are insufficient are not selected, the number of upperclassmen is always insufficient each year. This year, the ratio of new to old students participating in the exchange is 2:1, meaning only one upperclassman is available to share their cultivation experience at the academy for every two new students.

Henry Bennett stood in the last row of the class lineup, and under the guidance of Kate the teacher, they first arrived at the training ground to wait for the upperclassmen. After waiting for more than ten minutes, a dozen or so upperclassmen finally arrived, led by the senior teachers. The freshmen, who had been full of anticipation, were divided into two groups: students from privileged backgrounds and those with high potential were in one group, while students like Henry Bennett, who were deemed to have little cultivation value, were thrown into the second group.

The exchange started with the first group. The upperclassmen seemed very dedicated, not only sharing their own cultivation insights but also demonstrating techniques hand-in-hand with the students in the first group, allowing them to gain a deeper understanding.

Time passed without anyone noticing, and as the exchange time was already halfway over, the first group showed no sign of stopping.

Henry Bennett had also been full of anticipation, hoping to hear some experience from the upperclassmen, but unexpectedly, of the two hours allotted for the exchange, an hour and a half had already passed, and the upperclassmen were still enthusiastically engaged with the first group, as if they had forgotten there was a second group of freshmen waiting.

“Teacher!” Henry Bennett couldn’t help but raise his hand. “Half the time has already passed. Isn’t it our turn now?” Kate turned around, the middle-aged, somewhat overweight female teacher giving him a cold glance: “Wait a moment.”

Henry Bennett sat down helplessly. A student behind him gently patted his shoulder and comforted him: “Don’t take it too hard. We’re just the civilian students, after all. The upperclassmen who sign up for the exchange are all here to build connections, hoping to get to know more of the privileged class. After graduation, these connections can help them climb higher. We’re just here as background. If we get twenty minutes, we’re lucky. Don’t expect to learn much in twenty minutes…”

Henry Bennett was stunned. Seeing the anger on his face, the student sighed and said, “The whole Federation is like this. Getting angry over this is just making things hard for yourself.” He was completely different from Henry Bennett, extremely talkative. Henry Bennett barely had to say a word, as the other talked non-stop for twenty minutes.

During those twenty minutes, Henry Bennett only said one sentence: “My name is Henry Bennett.” That was when they introduced themselves to each other, and Henry Bennett also learned that his name was David Clark.

If Kate hadn’t announced the end of the first group’s exchange and the start of the second group’s, the conversation between him and David Clark might not have ended there.

There was no way to tell that David Clark was a freshman. His familiarity with the school’s traditions and gossip made it seem as if he had already been at the academy for three years.

Although Kate announced the end of the first group’s exchange, there were still a few people who hadn’t left their seats. They still had a few questions to ask, so the students in the second group could only stand there awkwardly waiting for them—among them was Henry Bennett.

However, the person in front of Henry Bennett wasn’t lingering because of unanswered questions, but because the upperclassman across from her was simply too enthusiastic, holding onto the freshman and not letting her leave. That freshman was none other than Sophia, who sat in front of Henry Bennett.

Sophia looked apologetically at Henry Bennett behind her, but since her hand was being held by the upperclassman, she couldn’t break free. The upperclassman was talking a mile a minute, as if he really had a lot of experience to share with his junior. But anyone could see that his intentions were not so pure. Sophia was petite and cute, with big, sparkling eyes and two adorable, mischievous little tiger teeth. When she smiled, she charmed everyone, regardless of age or gender.

Watching him hold Sophia’s hand made Henry Bennett feel uncomfortable. He knocked on the desk and said, “Senior, it’s my turn.” “Ahem, just wait a moment, let me finish talking to the junior.” The upperclassman waved his hand dismissively, trying to brush off Henry Bennett, who didn’t know his place. But Henry Bennett refused to let him have his way: “Senior, there are only a few minutes left.”

“You!” The upperclassman angrily let go of Sophia’s hand, glared fiercely at Henry Bennett, and said irritably, “Fine, what do you want to ask?” Henry Bennett was taken aback. He knew nothing about cultivating evolution armor—what could he possibly ask? The purpose of the exchange was for upperclassmen to share their experience from a student’s perspective, to help their juniors avoid detours on the path of armor cultivation.
