Henry Clark rolled his eyes at him, making William Harper feel that familiar Su Su sensation again, before continuing the introduction: “This room is called the Login Chamber. It’s the only hub connecting reality and the World of Full-time Martial God, and also the sole gateway to the Thirty-Three Heavens. You need to leave your body here and enter the game using a character card. Remember, your original body must enter the character pool, otherwise your physical body won’t last long. The character pool not only sustains life, but also has healing functions. Even if you’re gravely injured and on the verge of death, as long as you return to the character pool in time, you can be revived…”
Chapter Six: The Golden Chopsticks
“When a character card dies, you lose fifty points of lifespan. If you don’t have enough lifespan, and you’re killed by another player, you become the victor’s trophy. If you’re killed by an NPC, you’ll be recycled as a wild NPC. Lifespan cards are extremely rare. If you manage to get one, I suggest you use it on yourself—after all, everyone wants to live a little longer. If your player character card is killed and you have spare character cards, you’ll automatically switch to a new character. If you don’t have any spare character cards, you’ll be kicked out of Full-time Martial God, and the Martial God Key will be automatically scrapped. So you must always keep a few spare character cards on hand.”
William Harper couldn’t help but interject, “Martial God Key?”
Henry Clark made a gesture and said, “Raise your wrist and take a look.”
William Harper raised his hand, and was slightly taken aback. He realized that at some point, a strangely shaped watch had appeared on his wrist. To put it simply, it looked like one of those one-yuan cell phone screens bent outward into a half-arc, fitting snugly around his wrist. This watch even supported raising your hand to light up the screen, and countless pieces of information were displayed on it.
Henry Clark explained, “The Martial God Key is the client for Full-time Martial God. Outside the game, it’s a phone; once you enter the game, it becomes a wristwatch. If you use a character card, the Martial God Key will be completely hidden. It can’t be removed in the game, so you don’t have to worry about losing it, but outside, it’s not bound to you, so you must take good care of it. Whether you have this thing on your wrist is one of the differences between your original body and a character card. When you reach a higher level, never kill an original body—that would be real murder.”
“And also…”
William Harper smiled wryly. Henry Clark was a bit naggy, but it was all for his own good, so he accepted it with gratitude.
Henry Clark continued, “If your character card is killed, all your martial arts cards and item cards will be lost as well. All the effort and time you spent on that character will go to waste! Even when using a character card, try not to take unnecessary risks.” At this point, Henry Clark sighed slightly and complained, “I don’t understand why we have to keep developing the Thirty-Three Heavens. Life could be so good, but people insist on fighting to the death. It’s just too stupid. It’s like—you wouldn’t want to go to war, would you?”
William Harper replied righteously, “If my country needs me, I’m willing to fight to defend it.”
Henry Clark burst out laughing, but didn’t argue with him. She said gently, “What if you were sent to fight in Africa?”
William Harper immediately answered firmly, “I believe our African brothers are fully capable of solving their own problems independently and through self-reliance. I’m willing to stay in our country and raise a voice of justice for our African brothers!”
Henry Clark laughed so hard she doubled over, poked him, and then said, “All the major families have established safe strongholds in the Thirty-Three Heavens and have accumulated enormous wealth outside. Every child is born with a golden spoon in their mouth…”
William Harper thought of his own struggles after graduation and sighed, “More than that! With alien technology in hand and thousands of years of accumulated wealth, being born into such a family… it’s like having a golden chopstick stuck in every pore of your body, starting from your nostrils.”
Henry Clark hugged William Harper, laughing so hard she couldn’t straighten up for a long time. After a while, she half-complained, half-teased, “If I keep joking around with you, I’ll laugh myself to death! Why are you still as unserious as you were back then? Out of every three sentences, one is nonsense. Never mind, let’s continue. That’s why none of them are willing to take risks…”
William Harper quietly interjected, “Back then, I promised to make you happy every day, to always keep a smile on your face!” Henry Clark’s expression changed slightly. The two of them sighed softly at almost the same time, and for a while, neither could say a word.
After a while!
Henry Clark finally cleared her throat, not daring to look at William Harper, and continued, “The Minor Essence Technique can refine experience cards, which can be equipped to high-level character cards to harvest experience—a magic tool for quickly leveling up new character cards. The Major Essence Technique can refine lifespan cards, which are dozens of times more precious than those from the Minor Essence Technique, but I don’t have the authority to obtain such a card. If you ever get the Major Essence Technique, you must keep it for yourself—under no circumstances should you trade it.”
William Harper had just shown his true feelings, but quickly regained his adult composure and didn’t dwell on the topic.
Henry Clark saw that William Harper remained silent, and let out a small sigh of relief before continuing, “All martial arts in Full-time Martial God require basic martial arts as a foundation, such as fist techniques, palm techniques, finger techniques, sword techniques, saber techniques, spear techniques… Only martial arts of exclusive or higher level come with their own basic techniques.”
