Chapter 17

William Harper remained calm in the face of danger. He knew that the outhouse couldn't possibly hide anyone; he was simply choosing a favorable terrain for battle.

William Harper took out the Feixue Piaoye Spear and stuck it into the hinge of the outhouse door, then pulled over a bundle of dry grass to cover it. He stood somewhat nervously at the door, looking just like a startled rabbit.

The burly man, skilled in lightness skills, broke into the Wu residence and began a destructive search. He quickly found William Harper standing at the outhouse door and couldn't help but burst out laughing, shouting, "You think hiding here can save you from my deadly hands?"

With a vicious lunge, his hands transformed into tiger claws—this was the transformation technique possessed by the White Tiger Spirit character card. Such monster-type character cards usually appear human, but in battle, any part of their body can transform into that of a fierce tiger, greatly increasing their combat power.

William Harper calculated silently, timing his move. When the burly man lunged close, his claws just inches from William Harper's face, William Harper suddenly fell backward!

As he fell, he naturally knocked open the outhouse door, which turned on its hinge. The Feixue Piaoye Spear he had stuck in the hinge swung across, striking the burly man on the back of the head and sending this three-star master flying straight into the outhouse's first "distinguished squat spot."

Relying on his Boneless Soft Fist, William Harper's body was supple and nimble. He bounced up from the ground, grabbed the Feixue Piaoye Spear, and with a backhand thrust, stabbed it forward. The burly man, struggling to climb out of the pit, was pierced through the back by this strike. He twitched a couple of times, then died in the most humiliating posture of his life.

The burly man dropped three cards: one character card, White Tiger Spirit; one martial arts card, Tiger Form Freehand; and finally, a quest card called—Mountain Stream!

The Tiger Form Freehand had decent stats, but William Harper couldn't be bothered to switch. He wasn't a monster, and besides, this Tiger Form Freehand could only be equipped by tiger-type monsters—not even ordinary monsters could use it. He had no interest in doing any quests either; he just wanted to hurry home.

William Harper carefully put away the Feixue Piaoye Spear, making sure the spear hadn't gotten dirty, then sighed, "Why are you so fierce? Eating shit won't solve your problems!"

Chapter Twelve: Evil Accumulated

William Harper collected the three cards, repeated his trick, stuck the spear back into the outhouse door hinge, and once again put on a terrified act, standing at the door.

With one experience under his belt, he strove for realism in his performance, paying special attention to the little details—he messed up his clothes, tousled his hair, looking as if he'd just been ravaged. His expression was pitiful and frightened, perfectly matching the look, and he kept muttering, "Beast, beast, beast..."

The second intruder at the Wu residence was an Ironback Grey Wolf Spirit, whose strength was much lower than the burly man's, and so he was much more cautious. After searching for a while, he heard sounds near the outhouse and carefully approached, seeing the "spiritless" William Harper muttering miserably, "Beast, beast, beast..." He immediately fell into a "thought trap," secretly thinking, "Old Huang actually has this kind of taste? Never noticed before!"

Though full of gossip, this guy had no "pity for the fairer sex." After sneaking closer, he lunged with a knife.

William Harper calculated precisely, falling backward at just the right moment. The Feixue Piaoye Spear worked its magic again, but this Ironback Grey Wolf Spirit was smaller, and the spear only grazed his ribs, failing to send him flying into the "number one distinguished squat spot."

Seeing the result wasn't as expected, William Harper adapted on the fly. Lying on the ground, he kicked the outhouse door hinge, making the Feixue Piaoye Spear jerk sideways and slice open the wolf spirit's side.

The Ironback Grey Wolf Spirit howled, staggered back a few steps, eyes red with rage. Watching William Harper leap up, spear in hand, he gritted his teeth and cursed, "You're truly vicious!"

William Harper wasn't about to waste words.

He knew he'd never been in a fight before, and in terms of combat experience, he was a total rookie. The martial arts in Full-time Martial God weren't like in ordinary games, where you could just click a skill to use it. He couldn't afford to miss any opportunity, lest his opponent counterattack. He immediately unleashed the "Great Snow Fills the Bow" spear move.

With the combined bonuses of Boneless Soft Fist and the Hundred-Change Weapon Art, his spear move was textbook perfect.

"Great Snow Fills the Bow" was the twelfth and final move of the Feixue Spear Technique, and also its most ferocious.

This move used the middle section of the spear shaft as the fulcrum, bending the spear like a bow, with the tip striking wildly. Originally a group attack, it could stab several enemies at once—an ideal spear technique for breaking enemy lines. William Harper focused all its power on the Ironback Grey Wolf Spirit. Although this martial art didn't give him any stat bonuses, the technique itself was quite exquisite.

This Ironback Grey Wolf Spirit was no formidable foe. His equipped martial arts and weapons were mediocre, his fighting spirit weak, and he lacked much killing experience. He usually relied on picking up scraps and rarely fought head-on. Facing William Harper's fierce attack, his saber was knocked flying at the first clash, and his claws only held out for half a move before William Harper stabbed him clean through.
