Chapter 6

This half-remaining Lieyang Star is still stubbornly “alive,” but because it always faces the star directly, it’s hard to see any stretches of green shade—the only scenery visible is a vast expanse of yellow.

The three remaining guards formed a triangle, trapping Kevin Clark in the middle.

After Lauren and Hunter left to guard Evan separately, the few of them exchanged glances...

“Sir.” Feng Guardian Ethan hesitated for a moment before speaking: “I’d like to ask you for a favor.”

“Great!” Kevin Clark said cheerfully, “Is it to ditch the boss lady? You guys lock her up and I go back by myself?”

“Uh?” Ethan quickly waved his hand and said, “It’s another favor.”

“Then what’s the point?” Kevin Clark’s face fell completely. “You guys have no idea! How hard it is for me to survive under the boss lady’s shadow...”

Ten days or half a month of interstellar travel is nothing.

Getting dragged out of bed just because Lauren wants to sunbathe on some small island in the Pacific.

I had just lain down and fallen asleep, and suddenly I’m in a place with blazing sun, still have to keep Logan company, and don’t even get time to adjust to the time difference!

At mealtime, I’m required to run all over the world to get specialty foods.

Halfway through a shower, someone barges in just because some crazy goddess left something in dorm B205 and forgot her key.

What’s the point of living like this?

“It’s the Grand General who’s asking for your help.” When Ethan mentioned the Grand General, he was full of respect. Seeing Kevin Clark still looking like life was hard, he said solemnly, “There are benefits.”

“You should’ve said so earlier!” Kevin Clark immediately switched to an interested expression. “But let’s be clear, the benefits have to be tiered. If it’s a one-time job, it won’t be cheap. If it takes multiple times, then...”

“You’ll definitely be satisfied.” Ethan reached out, and a golden box appeared out of thin air, which he tossed to Kevin Clark, then continued, “Lieyang is testing a kind of spatial oscillation generator. The Grand General asks for your help with the experiment.”

The so-called “spatial oscillation generator” is a machine anchored in a planet’s orbit or a certain space, emitting a certain frequency to affect the magnetic field, gravity, and space, making space unstable. It can prevent wormholes from forming in this area, avoiding sudden attacks via artificially opened wormholes.

Lieyang Star is a civilization with over sixty thousand years of history. Their home star is this half-remaining Lieyang Star, but they possess a vast cosmic territory and a considerable number of subordinate civilizations.

In layman’s terms, Blue Star is now a pre-nuclear civilization, while Lieyang is already at the super-god level, naturally possessing some awe-inspiring technological creations.

“Spatial oscillation... generator?” Kevin Clark’s face first went blank, then he asked excitedly, “So it’s to stop black tech like me from popping up anywhere, right?”

“Probably.” Ethan actually didn’t know what those things were either, and said seriously, “The Grand General didn’t specify, so I can’t guess.”

“It’s anti-wormhole transport technology.” Holy Dragon Guardian Ryan looked at Kevin Clark with amusement and said, “The Grand General still hopes Your Highness can come back every few days. He just hopes you’ll stick to the rules and not show up in Lieyang’s secret locations. It’s not meant to restrict your... ability?”

Kevin Clark’s face fell again, looking utterly dejected: “So I’m still an interstellar taxi, and the kind that doesn’t even get paid.”

Among all known civilizations in the universe, even the most powerful Angel civilization doesn’t have this kind of technology or ability. What they have is a detectable wormhole transport technology.

Even the demons, who have studied wormhole transport to the extreme, can’t appear and disappear as silently as Kevin Clark.

The three guardians exchanged silent glances—not only were they wary of Kevin Clark’s ability to move anywhere undetected, but as Lieyang’s guardian, Mark Parker was also extremely cautious.

Chapter 5: Lieyang Civilization

Kevin Clark looked up at the sky. Taking advantage of Lauren’s absence, he helped Lieyang Star test that so-called spatial oscillation generator.

After several trips back and forth, every time he entered or exited, the space was filled with unknown particles and ionized electricity, but nothing happened—just instant in and out.

“Hmm, my name is Kevin Clark. The world I’m from is just like this—so-called gods are just the top dogs whose technology has reached a certain level. They call themselves gods, but really, they just have advanced black tech.”

The Lieyang civilization is just such an advanced civilization. If not, they couldn’t have kept a broken planet habitable—half of it’s gone and people can still live here.

“I’ve been to Lieyang Star a few times now.” Kevin Clark glanced at the three guardians still forming a triangle around him, stroked his chin, and said, “I’ve wanted to ask several times, but was always afraid you’d beat me up.”

Ethan raised his hand and waved: “Then don’t ask.”

“I’m asking anyway.” Kevin Clark was just that stubborn: “Haven’t you ever thought about moving to another planet? Always living on this half-sphere, with blazing sun all the time and no night?”
