Lauren was happy that coming to Blue Star allowed her to let go of a lot of stress, and she also made a group of friends she could really get along with.
"Boss, can you ask Little Kevin to do me a favor?" Sophie Smith pleaded, her face full of hope, hands pressed together in a prayer gesture. "I'm recording videos, right? Little Kevin can teleport anywhere he wants, no need for passports or visas or anything. Could he take me on a tour of famous tourist spots around the world?"
"Ask him yourself!" Lauren looked as if she wasn't close to Kevin Clark, and said with disdain, "That stinky Pan Jun sent those Pan Kong Huang Qiao Zhi Dou Pa Tuan Qin Ting to us... especially me. Why does it always have to be a princess carry, taking advantage of me!"
Sophie Smith didn't point out that it was always Lauren who jumped over herself to make Kevin Clark carry her princess-style, and continued to plead with her hands together.
"Seems like that's not possible?" Grace Davis bent down to pick up a shell, looked at it, then casually tossed it away. "Mr. Richard seems to need Little Kevin to take him... where was it again these days?"
Although Grace Davis was also a student, her father had a powerful background, so she knew a lot more than the other students.
"Angel Nebula." Lauren also knew about this, stroking her chin in a thoughtful pose. "It's to meet the Angel King and the King of Gods, Keisha. Seems like it's because of something about Karl, and they're going to seek help from the angels."
"That's such a pity..." Sophie Smith looked very disappointed. "There's no tuition or fees to attend the academy, but there are still things I need money for."
"Um..." Megan Reed said cautiously, "Speaking of money, when they recruited me, I think they mentioned some kind of salary assistance."
"Salary assistance?" Lauren looked curious. "Is that a thing?"
"Yeah." Megan Reed calculated seriously. "I used to work at a restaurant and made two thousand yuan a month. They said after joining the academy, even after taxes, I'd get six thousand a month."
"Damn!" Lauren looked furious. "Why did no one tell me about this! Do you know how expensive things are on Blue Star? I really need money too, okay!"
The seven girls all looked at Lauren with strange expressions. They only knew that Lauren always spent money lavishly, dropping hundreds or thousands on a single piece of clothing, and never seemed to skimp on snacks or anything. They thought she was a rich, beautiful girl, but now realized that while she was indeed beautiful and fair-skinned, the "rich" part might not be true.
"What are those looks for?" Lauren said, extremely annoyed. "Pan Zhen didn't even want me to come to the Super God Academy in the first place, and strictly forbade me from selling Lieyang stuff on Blue Star. When I came over, I had to ask Mr. Richard for an advance on a month's salary, and I've already spent it all, okay?"
They saw Kevin Clark lazily walking toward the beach, and Sophie Smith thought for a moment before quickly walking over.
"Huh?" Kevin Clark greeted Sophie Smith, and was stunned for a moment when he heard she wanted to borrow money. "Rent? The academy charges rent?!"
"No, it's for my apartment," Sophie Smith started complaining, saying how her livestreaming at the academy used up too much data, and the streaming site hadn't settled her payment for the month yet, and so on and so forth. Hands pressed together, she pleaded pitifully, "I'm in a pinch, can you lend me a thousand? I'll pay you back as soon as I get my salary."
Up to now, Kevin Clark was still confused. He'd been at the academy for seventeen days, had become buddies with the three jerks in his dorm, and made some friends, but he didn't think he'd talked much with Sophie Smith. How did it come to borrowing money?
"Alright then." Sophie Smith saw Kevin Clark dazed and silent for a long time, and said with barely concealed disappointment, "I was being too forward." She turned to leave.
Kevin Clark actually didn't have much money now either. His previously unexplained assets had all been confiscated, and after that, he only visited American banks when he really needed to. As for domestic banks? Of course he couldn't do anything illegal!
"Wait a second." Kevin Clark scratched his head, took out his wallet, counted out ten bills, and handed over a thousand yuan. "When you get your salary, remember to pay me back."
"Thank you, thank you!" Sophie Smith bowed, both embarrassed and happy. "On the fifteenth, or at the latest the sixteenth, I'll definitely pay you back."
The seven girls all looked at Sophie Smith with their own expressions.
Grace Davis knew about the process of recruiting Sophie Smith, and had heard that Sophie Smith hadn't joined the Super God Academy willingly, nor was she very happy about it. When questioned, she didn't show much affection or sense of belonging toward her family or country. What stuck with her most was when Sophie Smith said, "If the country doesn't love me, why should I love the country?"
"She..." Lillian Hill frowned. "Doesn't seem to know Little Kevin that well either, how could she even ask?"
Lauren strode toward Kevin Clark with an imposing air, and after stopping, stared at him intently.
"..." Kevin Clark felt extremely uncomfortable under her gaze. Anyone would, being stared at by a goddess whose eyes were literally glowing gold... really glowing. "Boss?"
Lauren kept staring, and the golden light in her eyes seemed to grow even brighter.
Kevin Clark seemed to understand something, took out his wallet, stood at attention respectfully, and bowed as he offered it with both hands.
