“For Mr. Clark, any problem that can be solved with money has never really been a problem.” John Harris, looking like he’d learned something, gave Kevin Clark a thumbs up: “Impressive, domineering!”
“Too kind, too kind.” Kevin Clark first smiled modestly, then shouted to the extras: “Don’t leave just yet. The grandpas are feeling upset and want to beat you up!”
“You’ve got money, you’re the boss.” Extra No. 1 grinned and said, “As long as you pay more, you can beat us however you want.”
All the extras, clutching stacks of what looked like at least ten thousand US dollars each, nodded vigorously.
Kevin Clark had already rushed forward, unleashing a flurry of moves—“Oh ya give,” “A do give,” “Dai dai not as good as give”—a whole set of Shoryuken, Hadouken, and Hurricane Kick.
Eric Bennett was the second to join in, showing off his Southern Fist and Northern Bird Fist.
Brian Carter, John Harris, and the guy who called himself Michael Harris… had no real moves, just flailed around.
After a round of pummeling, the beach was abuzz with bystanders’ chatter.
Some watched with cheerful faces, just there for the spectacle.
Others looked on with disdain, saying the light-skinned and dark-skinned types would do anything for money; some said the people from the East were fools, paying ten thousand dollars each just for a beating.
The Four Jokers didn’t actually hit hard—if they had, someone would have died. They just beat the extras enough to leave them temporarily unable to move.
Eric Bennett went around collecting the dollars one by one. The extras, furious, wanted to snatch them back, but couldn’t speak up or even stand.
“A bunch of idiots.” Eric Bennett thought for a moment, glanced at the grinning Kevin Clark, then turned and tossed about two thousand dollars next to Extra No. 1: “Here’s your medical expenses from the grandpas.”
Off to the side, Lauren watched with sparkling eyes.
“G, you can do that?” Lauren was impressed: “Amazing! Undermining the enemy’s morale, luring them with profit to make the barbarians submit without resistance, then crushing them with overwhelming force and humiliating them. Truly perfect military strategy!”
Among the girls, they felt their brains worked nothing like Lauren’s. In fact, they had only one thought about what Kevin Clark and the others did: “So damn shameless! But it’s so satisfying!”
Kevin Clark stared blankly at Eric Bennett.
Was that money? Did it mean anything to Kevin Clark?
Not at all!
In fact, it was just props from a movie company.
They looked real, even smelled real, but the line of English under the serial number clearly read: This item is a movie prop.
The movie prop company of Ren Hou Lie Wu was just that dedicated and mischievous.
After the farce, no police showed up, and no one came to meddle. They called over Michael Harris and a bunch of buddies who had come to help.
After night fell, they rented out a bar near the beach with Kevin Clark footing the bill.
This time, no movie props were used to pay. For Kevin Clark, who could teleport anywhere with a thought, money really wasn’t an issue.
Among them, Lauren was a rich lady who could casually pull out a jar of wine worth ten Blue Star gems, and the rest were from well-off families too. The only ones who were actually short on money were Megan Reed and Sophie Smith.
“I mean, with that black ‘big chrysanthemum’ in the sky, and we’re here eating, drinking, and having fun…” Brian Carter, having drunk quite a bit, confessed to Grace Davis again and seemed to get rejected again: “Is this really appropriate?”
John Harris nodded: “It is a bit inappropriate.”
“Seize the day when life is good, don’t let the golden goblet face the moon empty.” Eric Bennett looked disdainfully at the two being melodramatic, then at the rest who were having a blast: “G, do you get it? If we really end up fighting aliens, there won’t be days this sweet anymore.”
Chapter 12: This Is Life
Super God Academy had originally canceled weekends off, but thanks to Lauren’s insistence, and the fact that the main instructor, the wandering Richard, had more important things to do, they got to enjoy two days of freedom.
After a night of partying, those who hadn’t come together, like Michael Harris and the others, left that night, while the group from Super God Academy spent the night by the beach.
The next morning, the first rays of sunlight from the east shone down.
Kevin Clark woke up on a lounge chair, rubbed his eyes, and looked around. The guys were still sleeping like dead pigs, but not a single girl was in sight.
Laughter and cheerful voices drifted over from the beach in the distance. If it weren’t for that black “big chrysanthemum” in the sky, it would have been such a beautiful morning.
“I actually haven’t been to that many planets.” Lauren looked to be in a great mood. Last night, she’d drunk seven guys under the table, including Kevin Clark, and was still able to play guitar and sing afterward: “I grew up on Lieyang, rarely even left the royal city. The few times I did, it was just to adjust sunlight on some planets—came and went in a hurry. It’s only after coming to Blue Star that I got to play on a beach for the first time.”
Lieyang being split in half and left floating in the star system had happened over ten thousand years ago. Since then, Lieyang had no oceans, let alone beaches.
There isn’t just one life-bearing planet like Blue Star in the universe. There are plenty of planets more beautiful than Blue Star, many with their own unique features. Blue Star is actually just a pretty ordinary planet.
