Volume One: First Arrival in Another World
Chapter One: The Master of Lightning
Spring, 3012. The sun was shining brightly outside; it was a beautiful day.
In a lovely little courtyard, a handsome man sat on the lawn holding a little girl of about three years old. Beside him, a beautiful woman hugged her knees, gazing at the man and the little girl in his arms.
At this moment, the man was telling the little girl a captivating fairy tale.
It was hard to imagine that a grown man could tell fairy tales so movingly.
Perhaps if an outsider saw these three, they would surely think this was a happy and blissful family!
“Then, Mr. Clark, why didn’t the princess end up with the prince?” the little girl in his arms asked in confusion.
“Well, that’s just how the story goes,” the man replied, a loving smile appearing on his resolute face.
“Henry Clark, I’ve never heard this story before. Did you make it up yourself?” The beautiful woman beside him spoke softly. Although she didn’t directly expose his lie, her words gently revealed Henry Walker’s fib from another angle.
“Oh, Mr. Clark is bad, not letting the princess be with the prince. I don’t like it!” The little girl pouted in the man’s arms, protesting.
“Heh, Lily be good. Fine, I’ll let the princess and the prince be together.” Henry Walker scratched his head, then glanced at the beautiful woman beside him, feeling a bit frustrated by her lack of cooperation.
“Hee.” A faint smile appeared on the beautiful woman’s usually cold face, like sunlight after snow—so beautiful.
“Grace, you’re so beautiful when you smile. I really don’t get why you always keep a straight face,” Henry Walker said with a light laugh, gazing at the stunning Grace.
“Henry Clark.” The smile on Grace’s face quickly vanished, and she returned to being the cold Grace once more.
“Heh,” Henry Walker interrupted Grace, “I know, I know, don’t tease me. I still remember. Anyway, for now, I’m just a superdad. But I think I still have a chance to become official!”
“Thank you, Henry Clark.” A trace of tenderness flashed in Grace’s eyes. This volunteer, free superdad—if only she had met him earlier, maybe her situation wouldn’t be what it was now.
“Ding~dong~” At that moment, the doorbell rang outside.
“Someone’s here.” Henry Walker flashed a sunny smile. “I’ll go get the door.”
“Mm.” Grace responded softly.
Henry Walker stretched lazily, placed the little girl Lily into Grace’s arms, then strode toward the door and opened it.
“You’re Henry Walker, codename 95274, right?” Outside stood a squad of burly men in military uniforms. The leader was a young man, who now spoke to Henry Walker in a very rude tone.
Henry Walker frowned. The attitude of this young officer made him very unhappy!
“What do you want?” Henry Walker was not someone to be trifled with, and this guy in front of him was really getting on his nerves! The sunny smile on Henry Walker’s face vanished instantly, his tone full of impatience.
“Watch your attitude! 95274!” The young officer was clearly displeased with Henry Walker’s response.
At this, the veterans behind the young officer all gave him mocking looks—mocking the young officer, that is! As a seventh-level esper, the “Master of Lightning” 95274, Henry Walker was not someone just anyone could boss around. Even the chief would have to address him as Mr. Henry Walker. (There are eight levels of espers. The seventh level is called “Saint Esper.” The eighth level is almost mythical—perhaps no one has ever reached it, at least no one has ever heard of anyone who has.)
Sure enough, Henry Walker’s face turned cold. “Watch your damn mouth! Idiot.” Bang! Henry Walker slammed the door shut.
“Henry Clark, who was it?” Grace came over with Little Lily, seeing Henry Walker’s sour expression and asking in confusion.
“Just some idiot, ignore him.” Henry Walker waved his hand and gave a cold smile. If he weren’t in Grace’s house right now, that guy who dared talk to him like that would have already met the King of Hell!
Boom! Suddenly, a loud crash sounded behind Henry Walker—the front door had been kicked down!
Click, click! Henry Walker turned his head, a flash of murderous intent in his eyes!
Sure enough, as he turned, Henry Clark saw the reckless young officer who had just kicked open the door!
Henry Walker was furious! This detestable guy actually dared to kick open the door of Grace’s house with his filthy foot!
