Are Saint-level powerhouses really unaffected by the dragon’s might? William Carter wondered to himself, and at the same time, his gaze toward Henry Walker carried a hint of respect.
After sensing the dragon’s aura, Emma and William Carter stopped advancing. Instead, they stood in place and began to wait.
“What’s wrong? Not going any further?” Henry Walker asked in confusion.
“When you encounter a dragon’s aura, you can only stop moving forward. Otherwise, the dragon will see you as an intruder.” William Carter, ever attentive, explained this to Henry Walker.
“Oh, I see.” Henry Walker nodded unhappily. “So what do we do? Just wait here for the dragon?”
“Yes, that’s right,” said William Carter. “As long as someone enters the area of the dragon’s aura, the dragon will come over.”
“Oh, I see.” Henry Walker replied, while secretly thinking: This dragon is really damn arrogant!
Time ticked by, second after second...
After Henry Walker had cursed the dragon’s ancestors a hundred times out of boredom, finally, a resounding dragon roar echoed from straight ahead!
“Roar~~” The dragon’s roar shook the heavens and the earth, and then a massive figure flew toward them from the front!
The figure was so enormous it blotted out the sky, flying low like a giant airplane, its shadow covering everything below!
The gigantic form even blocked out the sunlight, casting the area where the three stood into its shadow!
Henry Walker looked up, wanting to see what the dragon in the sky actually looked like.
Looking up, sure enough, the so-called dragon was exactly the Western kind—a giant, winged lizard that could fly. But such a huge lizard here was actually pretty cool!
The dragon in the sky was icy blue all over, with a faint mist swirling around it. The dragon was about thirty meters long, its massive mouth like a cave, and the sound from its mouth was like thunder!
At the same time, a faint pressure radiated out with its arrival.
“Humans! What business do you have here?” The thunderous voice boomed from the sky, as deafening as a high-powered speaker!
Hearing this, Henry Walker was slightly stunned. Was this the so-called dragon language? How come he could understand it all!
“Respected Frost Dragon Lord,” William Carter stepped forward and addressed the dragon in the sky in very unpolished “dragon language.”
The reason it was unpolished was because Henry Walker suddenly remembered what the so-called dragon language actually was!
Damn it, the so-called dragon language was actually Henry Walker’s own native dialect—Wenzhou dialect!
The language Henry Walker had spoken for half his life turned out to be the so-called dragon language in this world! That was really a bit ironic.
“We have come to take back the baby girl entrusted to you,” William Carter said respectfully to the Frost Dragon.
“Roar~~” The dragon in the sky roared, “So you are the humans that Xuesha asked to take care of the child? Roar~~”
“Damn, so noisy!” Henry Walker muttered twice, secretly wondering if dragons had throat problems—otherwise, why did they always have to roar? People say barking dogs don’t bite, like that three-headed death hound he killed; except for a symbolic roar when it appeared, it barely made a sound!
Henry Walker was very annoyed with the dragon in the sky, partly because he really disliked anyone acting arrogant in front of him! He also hated having to look up to talk to someone, no matter who it was! Maybe this was the so-called inexplicable pride of the strong!
The dragon’s massive body circled once in the air, and that thunderous voice rang out again: “You can take the child! Roar! But you must have the strength to match! Roar! If you don’t have the power to protect the child, I won’t hand over the dragon’s descendant to you! Even if it’s just a dragon-human half-blood!” The dragon paused, then continued, “So I need to test your strength...”
Chapter Fourteen: Dragons Aren’t Bad Guys
When the dragon said this, Henry Walker was completely contemptuous! The child’s mother already said to entrust the little girl to Emma to raise, so who the hell are you to be yelling here!
On the side, William Carter translated the dragon’s words into the mainland language—Mandarin—for Emma.
Then he and Emma exchanged a glance, and Emma nodded gently.
“So how do you want to test us, great Frost Dragon?” William Carter spoke in “dragon language,” which was actually Henry Walker’s hometown dialect, to the dragon.
“Very simple!” The dragon’s voice was like a thunderclap: “We’ll test like this! Roar~~~” The dragon let out a roar, and a powerful aura burst from its body, a heavy pressure sweeping toward the three people and one beast!
Under this mighty dragon’s might, William Carter and Emma immediately felt the pressure multiply!
The first to falter was William Carter, who was a human fifth-rank Gold level. (Human ranks: first rank Apprentice, second rank Black Iron, third rank Bronze, fourth rank Silver, fifth rank Gold, sixth rank Great Swordmaster/Magister, seventh rank Sword Saint/Grand Magister, eighth rank Sword God/Archmage.)
Although it had seemed easy for William Carter to dodge Emma’s sword earlier, in reality, Emma had just been toying with him.
