Chapter 15

The ultimate killing technique once again appeared in William Carter's hands. One after another, the evolved zombies fell before the tireless William Carter, their flesh and blood flying everywhere. The evolved zombies that brought death to others seemed so fragile in front of William Carter's fire axe.

Brian Bolton instinctively moved closer to William Carter, knowing that staying here would let him breathe a little more of this world's air. He had never seen such a fierce and crazed killing method before. If he didn't know that William Carter was a human who had just awakened, Brian Bolton would have been more willing to believe the other was a superhuman.

"Roar!"

Avenger charged at William Carter like a cannonball, bringing with him a howling gust of wind.

The distance of several hundred meters was covered in just a few seconds, and Avenger was already in front of William Carter, who had just slain more than a dozen of his subordinates.

Immersed in his killing intent, William Carter had no idea that the one approaching was Avenger. Relying purely on instinct, he suddenly swung his axe fiercely at Avenger.

Avenger was momentarily stunned when he saw William Carter swing the axe at him. Then, standing still, he made no attempt to dodge or block William Carter's axe, letting it fall directly onto his shoulder.

Clang!

A muffled sound like metal striking metal rang out. William Carter immediately felt his arm go numb, as if the axe had struck not flesh, but a steel plate.

William Carter staggered back three steps, snapping out of his killing trance. He gently rubbed his right shoulder with his left hand, soothing the spot that had been jarred by the recoil. William Carter knew exactly how powerful that axe blow had been. Even someone wearing thick steel armor would have been forced to their knees by the impact, yet Avenger walked toward him as if completely unharmed.

Avenger quietly took a step forward, and William Carter felt the pressure intensify, his breathing becoming even more rapid than before. This giant, over two meters tall, with muscles like solid rock and not a single hair on his head, exuded an indescribable dominance. His bluish skin made him look even more menacing.

"Nice axe," Avenger said calmly. "I didn't expect to find such a good subordinate in a small tribe like this."

Although he already knew the other could speak human language, William Carter was still stunned by the rough voice: "You really can talk like a human."

Avenger frowned slightly in displeasure and said, "I am also an intelligent lifeform, far more advanced than humans. Now, let me grant you a stronger body and a longer life."

With a sudden movement, Avenger lunged. William Carter barely managed to see the attack and used all his strength to dodge to the side, but carrying David Clark on his back greatly limited his speed. Avenger's explosive fist slammed hard into William Carter's abdomen.

Pain! Excruciating, tearing pain!

Even with David Clark on his back, William Carter was sent flying by Avenger's punch, sliding several meters across the ground before coming to a stop. With that one punch, William Carter could clearly feel his internal organs had been injured. He opened his mouth and vomited up the bitter bile from his stomach. The sudden pain made cold sweat break out all over his body.

"Huh?" Avenger looked at William Carter, who was kneeling on one knee and struggling to stand, with some surprise. "You can still move? Did I hold back too much just now to avoid hurting him?"

Hearing Avenger's muttering, William Carter cursed angrily, "Damn! Holding back? Just how strong is this monster?"

The surrounding zombies, following Avenger's orders, quietly formed a circle, none of them making a move to attack.

"No matter," Avenger said, a sinister smile appearing on his face as he slowly walked toward William Carter. "You should have lost all ability to resist. Just let me bite you, and become my most capable lieutenant in the future."

William Carter looked around, knowing that there was no way he could leave alive today. He tilted his head slightly and said to David Clark on his back, "Brother, who would've thought that after just meeting, we'd die together again."

Chapter 6: The Return of Superpowers (Part 2)

David Clark managed a powerless smile, gripping the triangular bayonet in his hand with all his strength, quietly waiting for the final moment to come.

Avenger looked at William Carter with great satisfaction, slowly spreading his arms and saying joyfully, "Come! Join the strongest race in this world!"

William Carter grabbed the fire axe he had just dropped on the ground. A hint of surprise flashed in Avenger's eyes, and the corners of his mouth lifted slightly. "Still ready to fight? Very good... very..."

A powerful engine roar suddenly erupted from outside the crowd, interrupting Avenger's speech. Lauren Harris floored the gas pedal, crashing through six or seven zombies and shouting as she drove into the battle circle, "Get in the car!"

In an instant, the jeep was beside William Carter. As Brian Bolton flipped onto the vehicle, William Carter, already prepared by the sound of the engine, also flipped onto the jeep with David Clark on his back.

"Trying to escape?" Avenger suddenly pushed off with his feet, rapidly closing in on the jeep. He reached out to grab William Carter's shoulder with one hand and Brian Bolton with the other, shouting, "No one is getting away!"
