Jill's reaction was extremely quick. At the very moment the helicopter exploded, she rushed forward and tackled the stunned and frozen Brad to the ground.
Although the two of them were grazed by the shockwave from the explosion, they managed to avoid the helicopter that crashed not far away and the debris that scattered after the blast.
Louis, who was at the back, was not threatened by the helicopter explosion or the crash, but he soon realized he was standing too far behind.
"Nemesis!"
Heavy footsteps echoed from the shadows. Louis turned his head and saw the giant over two meters tall, wearing a thick coat and a helmet.
This guy's appearance and heavy footsteps put enormous pressure on people. Fortunately, its target was the STARS members Jill and Brad. In the eyes of Nemesis, Louis was at best a secondary or even lower-priority target, which gave Louis an opportunity.
"Damn, it's that freak again!"
Jill also saw Nemesis. She thought she had already shaken him off, but unexpectedly, he caught up so quickly.
"Brad, get up!"
Brad had recovered by now and also saw Nemesis. The helicopter being shot down and Nemesis's appearance left him in despair: "It's this monster again!"
Brad didn't know what to do. Jill kept scanning the surroundings, looking for any weapon she could use, while Louis, who knew the plot, sprang into action.
He remembered this part of the story very clearly: Jill drove a car and knocked Nemesis off the rooftop.
Louis's plan was to copy Jill's method, with a slight adjustment to knock the monster down!
He found a muscle car that looked sturdy and still had the keys in it. Muscle cars are famous for their horsepower, which was exactly what was needed at the moment.
Besides, the whole city was in chaos, and many cars had their keys left inside.
While Nemesis was focused on Jill and Brad, Louis quickly started the car, adjusted the angle, and floored the gas pedal straight at Nemesis.
Louis also used the sword scabbard he had removed earlier, wedging it with the seat to hold down the accelerator. As the car rammed into Nemesis and slowly pushed him toward the edge of the rooftop, Louis immediately opened the door and jumped out.
"Jill, now!"
Jill was also starting her car, but Louis beat her to it.
When Nemesis first appeared, she saw Louis run off immediately and thought the young man was fleeing on his own. She didn't expect him to suddenly drive straight at the monster, which surprised Jill as she gripped the steering wheel.
After Louis jumped out of the car, Jill noticed that although Nemesis was slowly sliding toward the edge of the rooftop, his speed was decreasing. With Louis's timely reminder, she immediately floored the gas and crashed straight into the car pinning Nemesis.
With another violent impact, Nemesis was finally knocked off the rooftop, along with the muscle car Louis had started earlier. Jill, however, managed to hit the brakes in time due to the collision, stopping her car at the edge of the rooftop.
"Did we take that guy out?"
Louis walked to the edge of the rooftop and looked down. Nemesis and the car had crashed to the ground together, but unfortunately, the car didn't explode.
He knew that even if the car exploded, it still wouldn't do much to Nemesis. This thing was extremely tough and had a remarkable ability to recover.
Sure enough, as Jill got out of her car and walked to the edge of the rooftop with Brad to look down, the monster had already thrown the car off himself and stood up again.
"This...
monster!"
Seeing Nemesis stand up again, seemingly unscathed, Jill cursed several times in a row.
"Let's get out of here, quick!"
Seeing Nemesis get back up, Brad just wanted to escape as fast as possible, to get as far away from that monster below as he could.
"You're right, we should leave now!"
Jill nodded, but as she turned to leave, Louis suddenly grabbed her arm. "What is it?"
"Look over there!"
Louis pointed downward. Brad and Jill looked down again and saw a fully armed soldier aiming a rocket launcher at the towering monster.
Boom!
Without saying a word, the soldier fired the rocket while Nemesis was looking up at the people on the rooftop.
And that wasn't all. Seeing that Nemesis was still intact, the soldier fired another rocket, turning Nemesis into a massive fireball before finally tossing the launcher to the ground.
"Whew~ Finally got rid of that freak!"
Seeing this scene on the street, Brad let out a long sigh of relief. The pressure from that monster was overwhelming, far beyond what any zombie could compare to.
Jill also breathed a sigh of relief. She had plenty of experience dealing with ordinary zombies, but she really had no idea how to handle that thing below. Being able to get rid of such a huge problem was definitely something to be happy about.
She then recalled Louis's brave act of driving into Nemesis earlier and thanked him again: "Thanks to you!"
"No need to thank me. I was saving myself too."
Without heavy weapons, the only way to temporarily take down that thing was to follow the plot and knock it off the building.
